Lansdowne Primary Academy opened in April 2012 as part of the GLC Trust.
Working closely with the Gateway Academy, Gateway Primary Free School, Herringham Primary Academy and Tilbury Pioneer Academy, we are committed to giving the pupils of Tilbury the best chances for success in life. Call us and come and see our wonderful facilities to educate our pupils.
We have decided to give parents and carers the option to pick their children up early tomorrow, Wednesday 24th June 2026 at 1:00pm (gates will open at 12:50pm). We want to emphasise that we strongly encourage pupils to be in school; we are strictly following all government heat guidance to keep the building as safe and comfortable as possible. Please don't worry if you have work commitments or prefer your children to stay—we will remain open as usual for the normal school day for any pupils who need to remain with us. A few important details for tomorrow: Lunch: All pupils will have their lunch at school as usual before the 1:00pm pickup. Afternoon Nursery: Because of the extreme heat, Afternoon Nursery will be closed tomorrow. World Cup Kit: As a reminder, pupils are welcome to wear their football tops tomorrow to celebrate the World Cup! Please just ensure they have sunscreen on and a water bottle. Looking ahead to Thursday and Friday: We are monitoring the weather closely. Any decisions regarding Thursday and Friday will be communicated to you tomorrow once we have a clearer picture. Thank you all for your continued support and understanding as we navigate the heatwave! Kind regards, Dan George Head of School
