Pupil Leadership

Our pupil leadership opportunities empower children to play an active role in shaping school life while developing valuable life skills. Through groups including the School Council, Head Pupils, House Captains, Wellbeing Ambassadors and Eco-Warriors, pupils represent their peers and lead positive change. Leadership roles in the arts, sport and academics — such as Arts Council, Sports Leaders, Class Champions and Pupil Librarians — further enrich our school community. Together, these roles promote responsibility, teamwork and a strong pupil voice across the school.

Eco-Warriors

Our Achievements

Autumn Term:

In September, we were proud to receive the Green Flag Award with distinction. Our Eco Warriors have demonstrated outstanding dedication in leading sustainability initiatives, including the Eco Festival, food waste projects, uniform swap shops, and community litter picks. Their efforts have made a real difference in areas such as recycling, reducing, and reusing.

On 22nd November, the Eco Warriors organised a community litter pick, bringing together local residents and families to improve our shared spaces and strengthen community connections.

Arts Council

Learn how our Arts Council champions creativity and celebrates the arts across the school.

Our Achievements

Autumn Term:

The Arts Council successfully secured a £500 grant from the Ormiston Trust to create an outdoor art gallery showcasing the fantastic, high-quality artwork produced by our students.

The project is now underway: the funds have been received, and the displays are on order. Several prime locations around the school have been chosen for the artwork. Ms Christopher has coordinated with Mr Spalding on the installation, which is expected to be completed within a week.

Arts Council representatives will work with class teachers to select the best pieces for display, with a reminder email already sent to all staff. Once the gallery is up, the Arts Council will update the artwork each term. Exciting times ahead for our young artists!

Pupil Librarians

Learn how our Pupil Librarians encourage reading for pleasure and support our school library.

Our Achievements

Autumn Term:

Promoting Reading in Assemblies and in Class
Peer Advocacy (Reading Role Models): Pupil Librarians lead book talks and make recommendations during assemblies, sharing their favourite books and reading experiences to inspire peers—especially reluctant readers.

Engaging, Organised Classroom Libraries
Maintenance and Tidy-Up: They take care of classroom book collections, keeping them tidy and well-organised. Clear labelling by genre, author, or reading level makes it easy for peers to find and enjoy books independently.

Posters Around the School Promoting a Love of Reading
Targeted Promotion: Pupil Librarians create posters to celebrate reading, encouraging others to explore books through peer-led inspiration.

Wellbeing Ambassadors

Children have also provided feedback on the use of ‘CRAFT’ in their classrooms.
