  • LPA Parent Champions

    Proudly presenting our LPA team of Parent Champions.

    • We have come together to provide support and encouragement to each other as well as learn together and from each other.
    • We offer a safe and welcoming space where we share experiences, seek guidance, reassurance and connect with others.
    • We have been helping around the school with projects and put our views forward about how we can work together as a community.
    • We have been on visits to the pyramid centre and the community room at Brisbane house, and we are trying to connect with support agencies to make sure we are all thriving.

    We meet every week on a Friday at 9.30 and everyone is welcome to join us. Next half-term, we are going to be supporting some Triple P parenting solutions - more information to follow.

  • Year 5 Family Learning Session

    During our family learning session, children worked with their parents and carers to answer questions that made comparisons. Eg. do people with longer arms have longer legs? Do children or adults have a faster reaction time?

  • Alien Egg at LPA!

    In Year 2, the pupils thoroughly enjoyed their writing unit all about an egg they discovered on the school field. They wrote about what they thought could be inside the egg and used words to describe what it looked like. They were thrilled when the egg hatched and a strange-looking alien called Nanoo emerged. They wrote a letter to Nanoo to tell her all about life on planet Earth. Finally, they wrote an adventure story about Nanoo and her experience on Earth. Having such an exciting thing to write about meant that the pupils produced some lovely pieces of work. Well done year 2!

  • Baking in Year 4!

    Year 4 have been fortunate enough to experience a series of hands on learning cooking sessions throughout the half term, courtesy of a professional chef! They’ve had the opportunity to develop their knife skills, expand their palates with food tasting, make their own fresh salads and they each made their own fresh bread which they then took home to bake - with some delicious results!

  • Tasting the Rainbow of Fruit and Vegetables

    The children discussed what foods are healthy for them and how different types of food help our bodies. They then tasted ‘the rainbow’ of different fruits and vegetables and talked about whether they liked them or not.

  • Year 5 Journey Back to Ancient Egypt!

    On Thursday 24th April, Year 5 embarked on a captivating Egyptian Day! Stepping into the world of Pharaoh Akhenaten and Nefertiti, students experienced life in ancient Akhenaten during a significant event: the appointment of a new high priest.

    The day was filled with hands-on activities, including learning about mummification, creating canopic jars and amulets, making ink and writing, baking bread, and crafting perfume cones.

    The day culminated in an Egyptian feast and exciting performances of plays and dances by the students. It was a truly amazing and immersive start to their new Egyptian topic!

  • โš™๏ธ๐Ÿ”ง Year 6 Rotary Rides in Action! ๐ŸŽกโœจ

    Our Year 6 students showcased their creativity and technical skills by building rotary rides using electrical circuits! From measuring and cutting wood to carefully aligning pulleys, they worked with precision and teamwork to bring their designs to life. 

    The result? A series of innovative, fully functioning rides—a fantastic display of engineering, problem-solving, and collaboration!  Well done, Year 6!

  • Year 4 Trip to the Frameless Art Gallery

    Year 4 had an exciting visit to Frameless, an immersive art experience in Marble Arch, London. This unique exhibition uses digital projections and music to bring famous works by Van Gogh, Monet, Klimt, and others to life. As they moved through four interactive galleries, the children engaged with art in a completely new, multi-sensory way.   • World Religion Day in Acorns

    For World Religion Day in Acorns, the children enjoyed creating lanterns inspired by festivals of light like Diwali, Hanukkah, and Christmas, learning why light is important in these celebrations. They also had the chance to look at Jewish artefacts, such as menorahs and mezuzahs, and learn about their special meanings. This activity helped the children explore different cultures and religions in a fun and hands-on way.
