  • Y3 Anglo-Saxon WOW Day

    Published 29/01/25

What an amazing day we had during our Year 3 Anglo-Saxon WOW Day! The children fully embraced the theme and had a fantastic time exploring the Anglo-Saxon world.

We started by making peasant bread, where the children enjoyed mixing ingredients and kneading dough. The smell was incredible! Then, we built a fire outside, learnt about fire safety, and roasted bread over the flames – a real treat with that smoky flavour.

The day also featured weaving, where the children created their own baskets, and clay pot making inspired by Anglo-Saxon art. They wrapped up by exploring runes and even tried writing their names in this ancient script.

Overall, it was a fun-filled day of hands-on learning, creativity, and history!
