Building bridges at Lansdowne...

We recently welcomed parents, carers and children to the school to work together to try to build a bridge that was strong enough to hold a great weight (dictionaries, to be precise!). Engineers could only use 6 pieces of newspaper and sellotape and their bridge had to span a gap of 30cm.

Teacher, Miss V Binns, said "There were lots of amazing designs but the strongest bridges were all made up of tubes. The winning bridge held an impressive 6 dictionaries (although there was some controversy over the amount of sellotape used)! Thank you to all the staff, adults and children who came along and had some fun building their bridges."
